Editors, what are they and what do they do?

WHAT THEY ARE: Editors are a unique group here, for they perform a function that would normally be restricted to just the admins.  This is editing certain posts and moving dead threads.  They have access to the Administration Panel, although they do not necessarily need to know how to use it.

WHAT THEY DO: As mentioned above, the job of an Editor is to edit certain posts/threads, namely the Character List and Color List, and move dead threads, from RPG Central, to the Archives section.

HOW THEY DO IT: This one is a bit more complicated (For even your founder here had to look this up).  For those with Admin status, at the very bottom of the thread page you find this:

You can reply to topics in this forum
You can moderate this forum

Clicking on 'moderate this forum' will take you to a separate page where, and I quote, "...you can perform mass moderation operations on this forum. You can lock, unlock, move or delete any number of topics,"

WHAT QUALIFIES AS A DEAD THREAD/WHAT DO EDITORS DO WITH DEAD THREADS: Please read the thread "What qualifies as a dead thread?" for this information.

WHAT THREADS DO/CAN THEY UPDATE: As mentioned above, there are two main threads they can update, the Character Claim (Found under Character List), and Taken Colors (Found under Color List).  Here, all that they do is keep the threads updated with either the current members (Which also means that they need to keep tabs on the current members) and what colors are being used (This includes deleting member's/character's colors if said member/character has beed deleted from the site.)

WHY WE HAVE THEM: The RP forums that I have been on have never really been that big, so subsequently have gotten overwhelmed with dead threads and not up-to-date information.  This, in my opinion, is because of a few Admins that just get overwhelmed.  So, what I'm trying to say is that the main reason is to take some of the load off of the Admins, who, by no stretch of the imagination, are released from this job.
